On sitting / standing
ergonomics ala 21st century
yesterday while listening Norwegian folk group Bergfast and washing dishes I started "to dance". I cannot really dance but I like to move and get the energy going. When I was a child in Czechoslovakia we use to have fast food cafes (they use to be called "bufet") where you buy your roll and salad and eat standing. The idea was that if people stand, they take less space, eat quick and business has a higher turnover. Recently I have read a story of one of best UK salesman. In his showrooms he has no chairs for his stuff. All is sales driven. Now you have may or may not notice that our mind works differently when we sit down, when we walk or when we dance. You may know by now what I am getting at. Imagine what work you would produce standing instead of sitting in front of your computer. And that, being not good enough to me imagine dancing with joy in front of your machine. Well here you have it. Idea is out there and if you have done it or it's being done already let me know. I am keen to learn more. As always.
